Empty Hand and Weapons Training
KunTao is a Hokkien term for the martial arts of the Hakka Chinese community of Southeast Asia. It is most commonly practiced in and associated with Indonesia, Malaysia, the Philippines and Singapore. Over time, KunTao and silat have influenced each other to the point where the distinction between the two can sometimes be blurred.
Both northern and southern Chinese martial arts are represented in KunTao, but the majority of systems originate from the southern Chinese communities of Fujian, Shandong and Guangdong.
KunTao in Jakarta is predominantly of Fujian extraction, characterized by their frontal and right stances (right foot forward). Shandong styles are Shaolin derivatives, identified by their positioning of the thumb atop the clenched fist.
This is a two course bundle which consists of Empty Hand and Weapons.

Students interested in becoming Instructors need to spend at least 2 Years training this course before submitting a video for testing. These techniques, theories and ideas need to become ingrained in you and become part of your ‘muscle memory’. It is not enough to simply memorize the drills and techniques.
